NATURE
According to the Holy Scriptures, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Nature is simply what Yah Himself created. This includes people, plants, animals, insects, and more. The first humans spent much more time outdoors than the majority of us in the States do today. Most of our schedules require us to be inside of a building most of the time whether we are at home, work, shopping, or visitng family and friends.
This has caused us to become too comfortable being cooped up inside of man-made structures instead of spending more time outside in nature where we belong. Being outside more often during the day exposes us to the sun which provides natural Vitamin D. Keep in mind that we are also a part of nature. It is also better for us to spend time around other humans even though we are very much accustomed to settling for communication through man-made devices. Connecting with nature is very important for all of us.
Another very important part of nature is food. The food that grows from plants and from the earth are the best for us and our health. The majority of the food in most of our grocery stores is processed so it's no wonder we have become addicted to unhealthy eating habits. It is our Creator's will that we eat the foods that he intended for us to. Whole grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and beans are healthy options.
Although ingesting dairy, fish, and meat is not sinful, they are not a part of the Most High's will for our diet. Animals were not created by God to be our food but after the fall of nature, things changed. Growing up, many of us thought we were healthy if we added a side of veggies or fruit to one of our meals. It is so much more than that! Check the ingredients on the back of the bags and boxes of food when you shop and you will notice that much of what foods contain is unnatural and unnecessary.
Interesting fact: When our ancestors were abducted from their land, seeds were also stolen. This included black-eyed peas, sesame seeds (also known at benne seeds), kola nuts, okra, and watermelon.
